STAFF BIOS

The caring and experienced staff at Children's Eye Care are not only experts at children's eye diseases—they also know how to work with kids so that a visit to the doctor becomes something for them to look forward to.

K. David Epley, M.D.

Dr. Epley is from Salem, Oregon, and received his medical training at the Oregon Health Sciences University. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore. He was fellowship-trained in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at St. Louis Children's Hospital, part of Washington University in St. Louis. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus (eye muscle balance disorders) and pediatric cataracts. He is married and has two children. Dr. Epley is actively involved in the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He is a Board Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is on the Board of Trustees for the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and is active on several Committees of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Epley is frequently listed as a Top Doctor in local Seattle area magazines and national databases.

Dr. Epley is married and has two children. His hobbies include music, swimming, and technology. He has been in practice since 1998.

Dr. Epley is the current President of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS).

Dr. Heidar Krista A Heidar, M.D.

Dr. Heidar grew up in the Pacific Northwest and received her medical degree from Loma Linda University in California. She did her internship at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering, Ohio, and her residency in Ophthalmology at Loma Linda University. She completed a surgical fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and eye motility disorders at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She specializes in comprehensive pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus (eye muscle balance disorders).

Dr. Heidar is active in the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus as well as the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Heidar started practice in 2006.
